Mood: Pleasantly chilled!
15th January 2006
Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: 25- 35mph
Surf / Sea State: Small Chop
Air Temperature: Cold
Sea Temperature: OK
Weather: OK
Max Speed: 29 mph (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered:

Nice wind direction and plenty of wind - solid 25mph with the odd 30 mph gust when we first arrived. Rigged the 5.0m, and small board, and got on the water with a number of others - Jim, Alan, Big John, Slev, Mike, Bertrand. Everybody was flying, often on the edge of control, but loving it non the less. Making a few half decent gybes, but often getting flattened by the gusts - all good fun and great to watch the wipeouts! The wind was picking up all session, and it was consitently more than 30 mph, at about 3:30pm when most people had decided they needed smaller sails, but couldn't be bothered to rig as they were knackered. Managed 29 mph on the NavMan - fastest I've recorded, so was quite pleased - still trying to get 30 mph though! All in all, a great session, and a good crowd / banter! This is what its all about.
